Man Kidnapped, Held for Months Over Missing Gold Hidden in Anus

A shocking case of kidnapping and illegal detention has come to light in Chennai, where a 32-year-old man was held captive for nearly four months by a gang after he failed to deliver smuggled gold from Dubai.

The victim, identified as Sajimon, had arrived in Chennai from Dubai with three gold bars worth Rs. 2 crore concealed in his anus. However, upon reaching the lodge in Triplicane, where he was taken by the gang, the gold was found to be missing. The gang, suspecting Sajimon of duping them, held him captive and subjected him to intense harassment in an attempt to force him to reveal the whereabouts of the gold.

Police, upon investigating the case, found that Sajimon had been working as an electrician in Dubai and had been promised Rs. 5 lakh as commission for smuggling the gold to Chennai. He had been recruited for this illegal task by a friend named Benny Malick, who introduced him to the gang.

Sajimon told the police that he had handed over the gold to another gang outside the Chennai airport out of fear of being apprehended by customs officials. He further claimed that he had left the gold bars in the airport washroom. However, his contradictory statements made the gang suspicious of his involvement in the smuggling operation.

The gang, led by lodge owner Imran, held Sajimon captive for four months, torturing him physically and mentally. He sustained burn injuries on his palms, bruises under his eyes, and visible wounds across his body. The ordeal came to an end when the police arrested five suspects, including Imran and the lodge room service staff Varundharadas, on Friday.

Sajimon was rescued and admitted to the Omandurar Government General Hospital for treatment. The police are currently investigating the case further to uncover the full extent of the smuggling operation and identify all those involved. This incident highlights the dangers associated with illegal activities and the brutality that criminals resort to when their schemes go awry.
