Manchester United return to Premier League action on Wednesday night, hosting bottom-of-the-table Sheffield United at Old Trafford. The Red Devils will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing FA Cup semi-final defeat to Manchester City, a match which saw them concede a late goal to lose 3-2.
United are currently fifth in the Premier League table, three points behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur. With just six games remaining, they will need to win all of their remaining matches and hope that Spurs drop points if they are to secure a top-four finish.
Sheffield United, meanwhile, are all but relegated to the Championship. They are currently bottom of the table with just 16 points, and have conceded a staggering 88 goals in their 32 league games so far.
The Blades have lost their last three Premier League matches, and have not won a game since beating Aston Villa 3-0 on January 21.
United will be confident of victory against Sheffield United, but they will need to be wary of the Blades’ threat on the counter-attack. Sheffield United have scored 30 goals in the Premier League this season, despite their struggles at the back.
The match between Manchester United and Sheffield United will kick off at 8pm on Wednesday night. It will be televised live on Sky Sports Main Event.
