Manchester City’s Bobb Out for Months After Leg Break

Manchester City winger Oscar Bobb will be sidelined for three to four months after suffering a broken leg in training. The injury occurred on Friday and will require surgery.

Manager Pep Guardiola expressed his sadness for the 21-year-old Norway international, who had impressed during pre-season and was poised to start the season as a regular on the right wing. “We are so sad for him,” Guardiola said. “Not because of his incredible pre-season, that doesn’t matter, but because any time there is a long injury.”

City’s Premier League campaign kicks off against Chelsea on Sunday, but they will be without defensive midfielder Rodri, who returned late to pre-season training after the European Championship. Another midfielder, Kalvin Phillips, is nearing a loan move to Ipswich.

Bobb’s absence is a blow for City, who will be looking to defend their Premier League title this season. The young winger had shown great promise in pre-season, particularly in the Community Shield victory over Manchester United.
