Manish Narwal Secures Spot in P1 Men’s 10m Air Pistol SH1 Final at Paris Paralympics

Indian shooter Manish Narwal secured his place in the P1 men’s 10m air pistol SH1 final at the Paris Paralympics 2024 on Friday. Narwal, who won gold in the mixed 50m pistol SH1 event at the Tokyo Paralympics, finished fifth in the qualification round with a score of 565. He overcame a slow start to qualify for the final, which is scheduled to take place later in the day.

Unfortunately, it was a day of disappointment for Rudransh Khandelwal, who narrowly missed out on a finals berth. He finished ninth with a score of 561, just one point behind Uzbekistan’s Server Ibragimov, who took the final qualification spot.

Earlier in the day, India’s para-athletes Avani Lekhara and Mona Patel made a strong start to the Games, qualifying for the women’s 10m air rifle standing SH1 final. They went on to claim gold and bronze respectively, opening India’s medal account at the 2024 Para Games.

With Narwal’s qualification, India’s hopes in the shooting events remain high, with the country looking to add more medals to their tally in the coming days.
