Belgium’s Manon De Roey delivered a dominant performance to secure her second Ladies European Tour title at the South Africa Women’s Open. Starting the final day with a three-shot lead, De Roey faced challenging windy conditions but remained unyielding, carding an even-par 70 to claim the title by a margin of four shots.
De Roey began the day strongly with a birdie on the par-5 seventh hole, but a dropped shot on the par-3 eighth threatened her lead. However, she quickly regained her composure, birdieing the ninth hole to extend her advantage to five strokes. Morocco’s Ines Laklalech and Sweden’s Lisa Pettersson both dropped shots on the ninth, further solidifying De Roey’s position.
As victory drew near, De Roey displayed remarkable consistency, making eight straight pars before dropping a shot on the 18th hole after three-putting the par-4. Despite this minor setback, De Roey remained unfazed and sealed the victory with a four-shot margin.
Following her triumph, De Roey was celebrated with champagne by Austria’s Christine Wolf and the English trio of Ellie Givens, Liz Young, and Hannah Burke. New Zealand’s Momoka Kobori and England’s Gabriella Cowley finished in a tie for second place, with Cowley also claiming the Sunshine Ladies Tour Order of Merit.
