Marabu Airlines, a sister airline of Condor, will establish a new base at Cologne/Bonn Airport this autumn. Beginning October 11, the airline will launch daily flights from Cologne/Bonn to popular sun-soaked destinations in Egypt and the Canary Islands, including Hurghada, Fuerteventura, and Tenerife. These flights will be operated using a modern Airbus A320neo aircraft.
Looking ahead, Marabu Airlines has ambitious plans for the summer of 2025. The airline intends to significantly expand its operations at Cologne/Bonn Airport by stationing three aircraft and increasing its destinations to a total of eleven. This expansion will include two new destinations: Jerez de la Frontera in southern Spain and Chania on the Greek island of Crete. The summer schedule will also feature flights to nine additional tourist destinations, including Mallorca and Gran Canaria in Spain, Faro in Portugal, and three more Greek islands: Corfu, Kos, and Rhodes. The popular winter routes to Hurghada, Fuerteventura, and Tenerife will also continue to be offered.
“With Marabu Airlines, we can welcome a new addition that is opening a base at our airport just in time for the popular autumn holiday season,” says Thilo Schmid, Chairman of the Management Board of Flughafen Köln/Bonn GmbH. “We are delighted that our new partner is offering flights to three destinations that are particularly attractive for passengers when it gets colder again in Germany.”
Axel Schefe, CEO of Marabu, says: “Just over a year after its launch, Marabu has established itself as a major player in the European holiday flight market. The expansion has been successfully completed and we can now concentrate on growth. With Cologne/Bonn, Marabu is opening its first base in western Germany with a very attractive catchment area. We are very much looking forward to welcoming even more passengers from the Rhineland on board with us in future.”
Marabu Airlines will offer two weekly flights to the Canary Islands starting October 11. Fuerteventura will be served on Fridays and Tuesdays, and Tenerife on Saturdays and Thursdays. Additionally, the airline will offer three weekly flights to Hurghada, with departures on Sundays, Mondays, and Wednesdays starting from October 13. Return flights to Cologne/Bonn will operate on the same days as the outbound flights.
Tickets for both the autumn and summer schedules are already available for booking through travel agencies or directly on the Marabu Airlines website. As a sister company of Condor, Marabu’s tickets are sold through Condor as a general sales agent. One-way tickets are available from €69.99.
With the expansion of its operations at Cologne/Bonn Airport, Marabu Airlines is offering travelers more choice and convenience for their holiday plans. The airline is poised to become a significant player in the German travel market, providing passengers with access to a wide range of sunny destinations.
