Marantz, a legendary name in audio, has finally revealed its highly anticipated “luxury” line of audio components – the 10 Series Collection. This collection signifies a return to reference-quality stereo components after an eight-year hiatus, and it promises to elevate home audio experiences to new heights.
The star of the show is the Model 10 Reference Integrated Amplifier, a $15,000 powerhouse designed to deliver exceptional sound quality. Drawing inspiration from some of Marantz’s most iconic hi-fi components, the Model 10 boasts a timeless yet contemporary design, featuring a porthole OLED display, aluminum knobs, and a polished aluminum face. Available in both Champagne and Black finishes, the amplifier’s sleek aesthetics are matched by its impressive technical prowess.
The Model 10 incorporates a newly designed dual-mono symmetrical amplifier topology and a triple-layer chassis, ensuring superior performance and minimal interference. Partnering with high-end amp makers Purifi, Marantz has equipped the Model 10 with two amplifiers, each with its dedicated power supply, and provided separate power supplies for all line-level inputs. This meticulous design translates to ultra-low distortion and pristine audio reproduction.
The amplifier’s power output is equally impressive, delivering 250 watts into 8 ohms and 500 watts into 4 ohms. For those seeking even greater power, the Model 10 can be connected to up to four other units for an enhanced listening experience.
The Model 10 is not just about power, it’s about versatility. It boasts a wide range of inputs, including two balanced XLR inputs, three RCA analog inputs, and a phono input for turntables equipped with both moving magnet and moving coil cartridges. Output options include XLR and RCA preamp outputs, allowing for seamless integration with other audio components. Furthermore, the Model 10 can be utilized as a power amplifier when paired with the new 10 Series Link 10n Reference Network Audio Player.
The Link 10n is a HEOS-powered digital audio player designed to enhance the Model 10’s capabilities. It supports a vast array of digital audio sources, including high-resolution Tidal streaming up to 24-bit/192kHz, AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Bluetooth, TuneIn, Deezer, Pandora, and more. The Link 10n also handles DSD and plays local digital files from USB drives or network servers at up to 32-bit/384kHz.
The Link 10n’s HEOS capabilities allow for seamless integration with other HEOS-compatible devices, such as powered speakers, AV receivers, soundbars, and more, enabling the creation of a whole-home audio network. Control of this system is facilitated through the user-friendly HEOS app.
Completing the 10 Series Collection is a dedicated SACD player. While specific details about the SACD player are still under wraps, its imminent release alongside the Model 10 and the Link 10n promises to offer a complete, high-end audio solution.
The Marantz Model 10 Reference Integrated Amplifier is currently available at select retailers with a price tag of $15,000. Pricing and availability for the Link 10n and SACD player are yet to be announced.
