Marathi Actor Chinmay Mandlekar Addresses Controversies and Trolling Over Son’s Name

Marathi actor Chinmay Mandlekar has spoken out against the controversies and trolling surrounding the name of his son, Jehangir. The actor, known for his portrayal of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in several films, took to social media to address the issue.

Mandlekar explained that his son was born in 2013 and the trolling had only recently intensified. He criticized a section of people for targeting his family and questioning his son’s name and his wife’s character. He clarified that he had previously explained the rationale behind naming his son Jehangir, citing the examples of the iconic Jehangir Art Gallery in Mumbai and businessman JRD Tata.

Mandlekar also addressed concerns that his religious identity was being misconstrued and that his family was becoming the target of undue scrutiny. He expressed his deep respect for Shivaji Maharaj and the role, but said that he was willing to step away from it if necessary. He emphasized that he could take criticism about his work but would not tolerate attacks on his personal life.
