Incumbent State Representative Marci Mustello maintained her hold on the Republican nomination for the 11th State House District, comfortably prevailing over challenger Ryan Covert. This victory marks a repeat of Mustello’s success in the 2020 Republican primary, where she emerged victorious with a solid majority of the vote. The 11th House District encompasses a sizable portion of Butler County, including the townships of Buffalo, Butler, Clearfield, Clinton, Donegal, Jefferson, Oakland, Summit, and Winfield. Additionally, it includes the boroughs of Chicora, Saxonburg, and East Butler, as well as the city of Butler. Mustello’s initial election to the seat occurred in a 2019 special election, filling the vacancy left by the resignation of Republican Brian Ellis amid allegations of sexual assault. Ellis, however, was never formally charged. Mustello’s most recent electoral triumph came in 2022, when she ran unopposed in the general election after securing 75% of the vote in the Republican primary, besting Jennifer Steele. Notably, no Democratic candidates appeared on the primary ballots.
