Marcus Rashford’s wrecked Rolls-Royce has been brought back to life by YouTuber Mat Armstrong, but the restoration has uncovered significant safety concerns that prevent the car from being roadworthy.
Armstrong acquired the wrecked vehicle at an auction for £184,000 and enlisted the help of Rashford’s team to obtain spare parts and essential information. However, despite Armstrong’s efforts, the Rolls-Royce currently lacks essential safety features such as brakes and airbags.
The car also has a missing door, leaving the passenger vulnerable to the elements and potential collisions. Despite these glaring issues, Armstrong expressed excitement at getting the engine running and driving the car on private land.
Armstrong emphasized the extensive repairs still needed, including addressing the brake issue, installing airbags, and repairing the damaged rear quarter. He utilized spare parts from an old donor Rolls-Royce to reduce the cost of the repairs.
The restored Rolls-Royce remains a work in progress, but it is a testament to Armstrong’s ingenuity and the dedication of the team involved in the project.
