Marks & Spencer’s Choc Marks: A Sweet Tooth’s Autumn Adventure

Autumn is the perfect time to indulge in delicious treats, and Marks & Spencer has just launched a new line of chocolate bars called Choc Marks. These bars, priced at just £3 each, offer a range of flavors that will appeal to even the most adventurous sweet tooth. From classic dark, white, and milk chocolate to more unique creations that seem to have been inspired by Willy Wonka, there’s something for everyone.

I decided to put these new chocolate bars to the test, trying out a few different flavors to see if they were worth buying as a special treat or if they were better left on the shelf. Here’s a breakdown of my experience:

Chocolate Candy Beans, Orange Jellies, and Popping Candy Flavor:

This was the chocolate bar I thought I might hate. I’m not usually a fan of penny mix sweets, but I was pleasantly surprised! The bar was actually quite enjoyable, with a distinct zesty orange flavor and a light fizzy sensation that quickly faded. Despite the multitude of flavors, it didn’t feel overwhelming or too much to eat.

If you or someone you know loves Terry’s Chocolate Oranges, this is definitely a bar worth considering. I’m planning on buying it again in the future, although I think it’s best enjoyed as a shared treat.

Caramel, Shortbread, and Chocolate Crispies Milk Chocolate Flavor:

As a huge fan of shortbread and caramel, I was excited to try this bar. However, it turned out to be a bit of a mixed bag. The texture was quite tough to chew, and it left a very sweet aftertaste that lingered long after I finished eating it.

The bar reminded me a bit of Galaxy Cookie Crumble, due to the biscuit texture, which I liked. But the harder crispy part of the chocolate didn’t work for me. If you’re a fan of Cadbury Double-Deckers, you might enjoy this bar.

Personally, I won’t be buying it again. The texture wasn’t enjoyable for me, and the aftertaste just wouldn’t go away, even after a cup of tea.

Milk Chocolate:

To get a sense of the chocolate itself, I picked up a bar of plain milk chocolate. I’m glad I did because it was absolutely lovely! The chocolate is smooth, creamy, and melts in your mouth, making it the perfect companion for a cup of tea.

It had no lingering aftertaste and was subtly sweet without being overpowering. I ended up eating three pieces of this bar because I enjoyed it so much.

If you’re unsure which flavor to try first, I highly recommend starting with the plain milk chocolate. It’s delicious and pairs perfectly with a warm beverage. I will definitely be buying this one again for myself as a special treat, and it would also make a great gift for a loved one during the holidays if you’re unsure about their chocolate preferences.
