Lewis advises shoppers to ask for curtains that are one-and-a-half times the width of their window, instead of the more typical two to three times the width. This could save a substantial amount of money, as curtains can be quite expensive.
Lewis’s advice was backed up by an ex-retail worker who called into his podcast and said that shops often tell customers they need to buy curtains that are two or three times the width of their window in order to get a better look with more gather. However, this is not necessary, and one-and-a-half times is enough.
The ex-retail worker also recommended opting for thermal or blackout linings, as these will last longer and insulate your home better. Lewis agreed with these tips, saying that they could save shoppers a significant amount of money.
