Martin Short Purchases $2.2 Million Brentwood Home

Actor, comedian, and writer Martin Short has expanded his Los Angeles real estate portfolio with the acquisition of a renovated home in Brentwood’s Upper Mandeville Canyon neighborhood. The property, which was originally listed for around $2.4 million, was purchased by Short for a slightly reduced price of $2.2 million.

Built in the early 1960s and recently given a contemporary makeover, the all-white structure is nestled amid a grassy parcel of land spanning almost three-quarters of an acre. The home features four bedrooms and three bathrooms in a split-level layout of over 1,800 square feet. Throughout the interior, hardwood floors and wood-beam ceilings complement the bright and airy atmosphere.

The main living areas include a living room centered around a corner fireplace with a marble surround, as well as a spacious dining room and workspace adjacent to a kitchen equipped with newer stainless steel appliances. A hallway leads to the bedrooms, including a primary suite with a private balcony and spa-inspired bathroom.

Outdoors, the private backyard offers an array of amenities for relaxation and entertainment. A seated bar provides a convenient spot for gatherings, while a fire-pit conversation area and seasonal waterfall create a cozy ambiance. The freeform swimming pool and spa are flanked by a grassy sundeck, perfect for lounging and sunbathing. Additionally, a detached studio apartment with its own kitchenette and bathroom provides extra space for guests or extended family.

Known for his comedic characters like Jiminy Glick and Ed Grimley, Martin Short has been a prominent figure in entertainment for decades. In addition to his successful roles in movies and television, including ‘Three Amigos!’, ‘Innerspace’, ‘Father of the Bride’, and ‘The Morning Show’, he has also starred in Broadway productions, receiving a Tony Award for ‘Best Actor in a Musical’ for his performance in ‘Little Me’.
