Drawing inspiration from the island’s natural splendor, Chef Križ has crafted a delectable menu for Maslina Resort’s Michelin-Recommended Restaurant. Signature dishes include creamy burratina paired with flamed local tomatoes, celery sticks infused with gin & tonic, and garden basil oil. Other highlights feature Adriatic octopus stew with roast Hvar olives, potato confit espuma, and Maslina-made olive powder, as well as slow-cooked beef tri-tip accompanied by burnt carrot terrine, carrot cream, pickled carrots, carrot-coffee gel, and demi-glace.
Chef Križ’s passion for culinary artistry extends to delectable desserts such as chocolate and praline ganache, vegan catalana custard topped with burnt sugar and fresh berries, and a selection of local cheeses accompanied by grapes, nuts, local fig marmalade, and grissini.
Prior to joining Maslina Resort, Chef Križ’s culinary journey has been marked by notable achievements. As Executive Chef at Boškinac on Pag Island, he secured his first Michelin star. His tenure at the Grand Park Hotel Rovinj left a lasting impression on the hotel’s culinary scene. Chef Križ’s international experience includes serving as Sous Chef at the luxurious Rixos Fluela Davos hotel in Switzerland and earning accolades for Bugenvila Restaurant in Cavtat, including recognition in the Michelin Guide 2020, Falstaff 90/100, and Gault&Millau 14/20.
Chef Križ’s culinary philosophy is centered on utilizing locally sourced ingredients, emphasizing quality and taste while paying homage to the island’s natural bounty. He believes in embracing simplicity, focusing on highlighting the essence of ingredients with the utmost respect for their flavors and textures.
