Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey and Boston Mayor Michelle Wu will lead a delegation to the Vatican Climate Summit from May 15 to 17. At the summit, Governor Healey will speak on “governing in the age of climate change,” while Mayor Wu will focus on “governance, health, and energy.”
The summit, organized by the Pontifical Academy of Sciences and the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences, will bring together mayors, governors, scientists, and faith leaders to discuss climate resilience and solutions for a clean energy future.
Governor Healey highlighted Massachusetts’ leadership in climate action and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to collaborate with global leaders at the summit. She emphasized the importance of addressing climate change, particularly its impact on vulnerable populations.
Mayor Wu shared her excitement about joining the delegation and sharing Boston’s progress on climate action. She believes that the summit will provide valuable insights and foster transdisciplinary partnerships for a sustainable future.
