A massive fire broke out in Delhi’s INA market in the wee hours of Monday, causing injuries to four to six individuals. The incident, which started at a fast food restaurant, has been met with a significant response from the Delhi Fire Service, with seven to eight fire tenders currently at the scene. Parts of the restaurant’s roof have collapsed due to the intensity of the blaze. Manoj Mehlawat, Station Training Officer (STO) of the Delhi Fire Service, confirmed receiving a report of the fire at 3:20 am. He revealed that two restaurants were engulfed in flames and that four to six people sustained injuries. The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation, but authorities suspect that an excessive amount of commercial cylinders stored within the restaurant could have played a role. The situation highlights the potential for serious consequences when safety regulations are not strictly adhered to. Further details about the incident are awaited.
