Maxwell Anderson, the man accused of killing and mutilating 19-year-old Sade Robinson, has pleaded not guilty durante at his initial court appearance on Monday, April 22. Anderson waived his right to a preliminary hearing, where a judge would have decided if there was enough evidence to move forward with the case.
According to a criminal complaint, DNA evidence found on bedding in one of the bedrooms in Anderson’s home and on the walls leading towards the basement did not match Robinson. The discovery of conflicting DNA suggests that Robinson may not have been the individual present at Anderson’s residence. Anderson has been charged with murder and mutilation in connection with Robinson’s death.
Investigators believe that Robinson and Anderson had a prior relationship. Documents indicate that the two went on a date on April 1st. A scheduling conference for the case has been set for May 16, where further details about the evidence and proceedings will be discussed.
