Mayank Agarwal has been appointed as the new captain of India A in the Duleep Trophy. This comes after Shubman Gill was included in the Indian squad for the upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh, which begins on September 19th.
India A, unfortunately, suffered a 76-run defeat in their opening match against India B at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Sunday. However, they will be looking to bounce back in their next encounter against Shreyas Iyer’s India D team. This match is scheduled to take place at the Rural Development Trust Stadium in Anantapur, commencing on September 12th.
With Shubman Gill’s absence due to national duties, Mayank Agarwal will take the reins of India A’s campaign in the Duleep Trophy. He will be aiming to lead the team to victory and prove his worth as a potential future leader for the Indian national team.
