McDonald’s fans are in for a treat! The beloved Philly Cheese Stack burger, which was sadly axed from the menu at the end of last year, is making a triumphant return. The news was revealed as part of the fast food chain’s upcoming Monopoly game promotion, set to launch in the UK on September 4th.
The Philly Cheese Stack, which many hailed as ‘the best burger McDonald’s has ever made,’ will be returning alongside the Chicken Big Mac. The burger, which features two beef patties, cheese sauce, two cheese slices, grilled and crispy onions, and pickles nestled in a toasted bun, was a huge hit during its initial launch in October 2023. Its departure in November left many fans heartbroken, with some even starting petitions for its return.
Online, customers expressed their excitement and nostalgia for the burger. One user, @_elliottxo, simply stated: ‘That Philly Cheese Stack is the best limited-edition burger McDonald’s have ever done.’ Another, @rednuoPdnuorG, described it as ‘sensational,’ while @HoodieUce claimed it was ‘genuinely the nicest fast food burger I’ve ever tasted.’
The burger’s popularity was so immense that a Change.org petition was launched by a user named Naomi Campbell, who called the Philly Cheese Stack ‘incredible’ and confessed to being ‘devastated’ to lose it. The petition garnered over 100 signatures, showcasing the widespread love for the burger.
In addition to the Philly Cheese Stack, chicken fans can rejoice as the Chicken Big Mac will also be returning to the menu. Last featured in December, it was replaced by the Double Big Mac and Double Big Mac with Bacon as part of McDonald’s 50th birthday celebrations.
McDonald’s menu changes every six weeks, with the last change taking effect on July 17th. The return of the Philly Cheese Stack and Chicken Big Mac, along with potentially other new and returning items, is sure to excite customers and shake up the fast-food scene in the UK. Get ready for a delicious September filled with McDonald’s favorites!
