McLeod Bethel-Thompson Leads Elks to Victory, Earns CFL-PFF Honour Roll Recognition

Edmonton Elks quarterback McLeod Bethel-Thompson had a career-defining performance in Week 13, leading his team to a dominant 35-20 victory over the Calgary Stampeders on Labour Day. His exceptional play earned him the top spot on the CFL-Pro Football Focus Honour Roll for the week.

Bethel-Thompson threw for an impressive 486 yards and three touchdowns, averaging 13 yards per completion. He showcased his ability to connect on long passes, recording six completions of 30 yards or more. His stellar performance resulted in a PFF grade of 90.2, making him the highest-graded quarterback in Week 13.

Bethel-Thompson’s recent form has been nothing short of spectacular. Over his last three games, he has amassed 920 passing yards and seven touchdown passes without a single interception. He currently sits third in the CFL in passing yards with 2,879 and second in the league in touchdown passes with 17.

Adding to the Elks’ offensive firepower, receiver Kurleigh Gittens Jr. was also recognized as the top receiver for Week 13. Gittens Jr. caught seven passes for 115 yards, including two passes exceeding 30 yards and two crucial second down conversions. He is currently second on the Elks and 12th in the CFL in receiving with 610 yards and five touchdowns. Gittens Jr. leads the Elks in second down conversion catches with 24.

The Elks will look to build on their Labour Day victory as they host the Calgary Stampeders in a rematch on Saturday at Commonwealth Stadium. Kick-off is scheduled for 5 p.m. with live coverage on 630 CHED beginning with Countdown to Kick-off at 3:30 p.m.
