Media mogul Rupert Murdoch has entered into his fifth marriage at the age of 93, wedding 63-year-old retired marine biologist Elena Zhukova in California on Saturday. The couple reportedly met through Murdoch’s third wife, Wendi Deng, and began dating last year.
Murdoch, known for his extensive media empire spanning satellites, Hollywood studios, and publications worldwide, stepped down as chairman of News Corp and Fox Corp last year after a 70-year career in the industry. The marriage is not expected to impact the trust that holds a significant portion of voting shares in both companies.
Murdoch’s previous marriages include Patricia Booker (1956-1967), Anna Maria Torv (1967-1999), Wendi Deng (1999-2013), and Jerry Hall (2016-2022). Zhukova, originally from Moscow, was previously married to billionaire energy investor Alexander Zhukov and is the mother of art patron Dasha Zhukova, who was formerly married to Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich.
