Megan Thee Stallion, known legally as Megan Pete, is facing a lawsuit filed by Emilio Garcia, a former cameraman who worked for her from 2018 to 2023. Garcia alleges that during his employment, he was subjected to a hostile work environment that included fat shaming, unpaid wages, and wrongful termination.
One of the most startling allegations in the lawsuit relates to an incident during a 2022 tour trip to Ibiza. Garcia claims that Megan Thee Stallion engaged in sexual activity in a moving car while he was present, leaving him feeling “embarrassed, mortified and offended.”
In addition to the sexual harassment claim, the lawsuit also includes a host of workplace-related allegations. Garcia contends that he was misclassified as an independent contractor, which deprived him of healthcare benefits. He also claims he was “forced to take on a myriad of duties and work much longer hours” without being compensated for overtime or provided with breaks for rests and meals.
“Defendant (Megan Thee) Stallion’s conduct created a hostile work environment for Plaintiff, making the conditions of his employment intolerable,” the court documents state.
Garcia further alleges that his compensation structure was changed in 2022 from a monthly rate to a pay-per-task system, resulting in him “earning significantly less.” He claims that in June 2023, he was informed that his “services would no longer be required,” which he believes was in retaliation for his complaints about wage and hour violations.
Megan Thee Stallion’s lawyer, Alex Spiro, has stated that they will address the lawsuit in court. “This is an employment claim for money — with no sexual harassment claim filed and with salacious accusations to attempt to embarrass her,” Spiro said.
