Megan Thee Stallion, who recently celebrated her success with the number one single “Sweetest Pie” and a deal with Warner Music Group, is now facing legal trouble from a former photographer who worked for her. Emilio Garcia, who worked for Megan between 2019 and 2023, has filed a lawsuit against the rapper, alleging that he was subjected to a hostile work environment and that he was fired after he complained about Megan’s behavior.
Garcia claims that Megan made jokes about his weight and appearance, and that she created a hostile work environment in which he felt uncomfortable. He also alleges that Megan and her team told him not to “discuss” what he saw, which led to his dismissal.
Garcia is seeking financial compensation for his experiences, including unpaid overtime, unpaid wages plus interest, and employee benefits on top of punitive damages. He has not, however, filed an official sexual harassment claim.
Megan’s lawyer, Alex Spiro, has issued a statement to Page Six, calling Garcia’s claims “salacious” and “an employment claim for money.” He said that Megan plans to disprove these accusations “in court.”
The lawsuit comes at a time when Megan’s career is on the rise. She is one of the most popular rappers in the world, and her recent single “Sweetest Pie” was her third to go number one on the charts. She also signed a deal with Warner Music Group that allows her to maintain her status as an independent artist.
