Emilio Garcia, a photographer previously employed by Megan Thee Stallion, has initiated legal proceedings against the artist, alleging severe mistreatment during his time as an employee. According to the lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, Garcia claims that, while accompanying Megan on an outing in Ibiza, Spain, in 2022, he was forced to witness her engaged in sexual activity with another woman in an SUV. Garcia asserts that he was unable to exit the moving vehicle and would have been stranded in an unfamiliar location even if he could have. The lawsuit further alleges that following the incident, Garcia was subjected to verbal harassment, including body-shaming, and was instructed by Megan to maintain silence about what he had witnessed. Garcia also claims that he had previously considered resigning due to excessive workload, insufficient compensation, and a hostile work environment characterized by Megan’s possessiveness and abusive behavior. He alleges that after raising these concerns with Megan, he was terminated the following day, ending his four-year employment with the artist. Subsequent to his dismissal, Garcia filed a job discrimination complaint with the California Civil Rights Department. The lawsuit, which was initially reported by NBC News, names as defendants Megan Pete (Megan Thee Stallion’s legal name), her companies Megan Thee Stallion Entertainment and Hot Girl Touring, and her record label, Roc Nation. While a defense response is yet to be filed, Garcia seeks financial compensation to be determined during the trial, citing severe emotional and physical distress resulting from the alleged mistreatment, wrongful termination, and the traumatic experience of witnessing the incident in the SUV. Notably, Megan Thee Stallion has faced previous legal entanglements, including a widely publicized shooting incident involving rapper Tory Lanez. In that case, she testified against Lanez, who was found guilty of three felonies and sentenced to 10 years in prison. Since then, Megan has risen to prominence as one of hip-hop’s most acclaimed artists, winning a Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 2021 and achieving chart-topping success with singles like ‘Savage’ (featuring Beyoncé) and ‘WAP’ (with Cardi B).
