Following her departure from the royal family in 2020, Meghan Markle has been pursuing her own career path. Despite the cancellation of her Spotify podcast Archetypes, rumors of a modeling deal with Dior, and a non-existent involvement with the Suits reboot, she has now launched her own lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard.
The brand will offer a range of home decor and kitchen products, as well as edibles such as jellies and spreads. The first product unveiled by Meghan is her strawberry jam, which she sent to friends and influencers for promotion on social media.
However, the launch of Meghan’s strawberry jam has had an unexpected impact on sales of King Charles’ Highgrove Organic Strawberry Preserve. The monarch’s jam, made using ingredients from his own garden, has sold out online following Meghan’s product launch.
Royal biographer Angela Levin has questioned whether Meghan’s jam ingredients are actually homegrown. Levin also suggested that Meghan may be envious of King Charles’ practice of donating proceeds from his food and jam sales to charity, while Meghan’s brand profits will go to her personally.
Despite Levin’s skepticism, Meghan’s American Riviera Orchard brand is expected to gain traction in the home decor and kitchenware market.
