Melinda French Gates, the former wife of Microsoft founder Bill Gates, has denied rumors that she is engaged to Jon Du Pre, a former Fox News correspondent.
A spokesperson for Melinda Gates told People that the 59-year-old philanthropist is not engaged and is no longer seeing Du Pre.
Melinda and Gates separated in 2021 after 27 years of marriage. They founded the Gates Foundation, one of the world’s largest charitable organizations, in 2000.
Reports emerged that Melinda and Du Pre were dating in November 2022 after they were spotted together at several events, including a basketball game between the Brooklyn Nets and the Boston Celtics.
The denial came after a photo of Melinda Gates wearing a diamond ring surfaced. The photo was taken as she disembarked from a helicopter in New York City.
During their divorce, Melinda and Gates released a joint statement that read: “After a great deal of thought and a lot of work on our relationship, we have made the decision to end our marriage. Over the last 27 years, we have raised three incredible children and built a foundation that works all over the world to enable all people to lead healthy, productive lives.”
