Melinda Gates has been seen wearing a diamond ring in New York City, sparking rumors that she may be in a relationship and planning to remarry soon. The billionaire philanthropist and former wife of Microsoft founder Bill Gates was photographed wearing the ring while disembarking a helicopter, according to Page Six. The 59-year-old has reportedly been dating former Fox reporter Jon Du Pre since November 2022, after she and Bill Gates announced their separation in 2021.
Gates and Bill Gates parted ways after 27 years of marriage. Their joint statement at the time read: “After a great deal of thought and a lot of work on our relationship, we have made the decision to end our marriage.”
The couple founded one of the largest charitable foundations in 2000 in Seattle while they were married. Melinda Gates has said that one of the reasons that led to their separation was Bill Gates’s association with late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. “I did not like that he had meetings with Jeffrey Epstein, no. I made that clear to him,” she told CBS Mornings, adding that “he was abhorrent. He was evil personified. My heart breaks for these women.”
