Mercedes-Benz India has expanded its presence in the Indian market with the launch of the Mercedes CLE Cabriolet and the AMG GLC 43 4Matic Coupe. The CLE Cabriolet, a convertible model unveiled globally in July 2023, has now made its exclusive debut in India, priced at Rs 1.1 crore (ex-showroom).
The AMG GLC 43 coupe is powered by a potent 2.0-liter, four-cylinder, mildly hybrid turbocharged petrol engine. This engine delivers an impressive 416 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque, propelling the coupe from 0 to 100 kph in just 4.8 seconds and reaching a top speed of 250 kph. The power is channeled through a 9-speed automatic gearbox.
The CLE Cabriolet, the third convertible model available in India after the SL 55 Roadster and the E 53 Cabriolet, is based on Mercedes’ Modular Rear Architecture (MRA) platform, which also underpins the C-Class. Its design draws inspiration from the current E-Class coupe and cabriolet, featuring a distinctive long hood and a large, shark-nose grille upfront.
Inside, the CLE Cabriolet shares a lot of its interior elements with the C-Class. It offers a choice of upholstery options including Tonka brown/black, Power red/black, and black leather. For the soft top, two fabric colors are available: red and black. The 2+2 seating arrangement boasts a fully digital 12.3-inch instrument cluster and a 11.9-inch infotainment display in portrait orientation.
Adding to the luxurious experience are features like AMG sports seats, an AMG Nappa leather steering wheel with paddles, digital LED lights, a tiltable infotainment screen, 19-inch AMG alloy wheels, a 710W Burmester 3D sound system with 17 speakers, AR navigation, a HUD display, a 360-degree camera, park assist, blind spot assist, and more. The soft top takes just 20 seconds to open and close, and the CLE Cabriolet features a segment-first center airbag.
