These leaks stem from X (formerly Twitter) users CezaryXR, XR Daily News’ editor-in-chief, and Lunayian, a prolific source of Quest 3S leaks, including images of potential marketing materials for the 3S. According to CezaryXR, two Quest 3S models will be offered: a 128GB model priced at around $300 and a 256GB version for approximately $400. These prices align closely with the Quest 2 and are significantly lower than the current Quest 3’s $499 and $649 price tags.
If the leak proves accurate, Meta will cease producing the 128GB Quest 3 model in November, meaning it will become unavailable after current stock is depleted. Simultaneously, both Quest 3 models will receive price cuts, though the exact discount remains unknown. While a discount might seem like a positive move, it could ultimately lead to a price increase in the long run. Once the 128GB stock runs out, consumers will have no choice but to purchase the 512GB model, and even with a discount, its price is likely to remain higher than the initial $499 price of the cheaper model.
