Metaphor: ReFantazio, the latest game from Atlus/Sega, has been making waves among fans. During an official fan Q&A, the developers shared some exciting new details about the game, including whether or not it will feature romance options.
The answer, unfortunately for those hoping for a love story, is no. The developers confirmed that Metaphor: ReFantazio will not feature romance options, similar to the Persona series of games. This was translated and confirmed by the Persona Central X account.
When asked about any kind of “Social Links” involved in Metaphor: ReFantazio’s gameplay, the developers stated: “By deepening friendships with those you meet on your journey, some of them will become supporters (i.e. followers). Sensing the heroic feelings within them, those manifest through the Archetypes.”
