The Miami Dolphins may be planning for a future without wide receiver Tyreek Hill. According to Albert Breer of The MMQB, the Dolphins are reportedly considering Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy in this week’s NFL Draft as a potential long-term replacement for Hill.
Hill only turned 30 last year, but with his speed being a key component of his game, the Dolphins may be concerned about his longevity. His cap hit also increases to over $31 million this season, and Miami could save roughly $50 million by releasing him after the 2024 season.
Worthy’s speed is comparable to Hill’s, and he could potentially allow the Dolphins to phase out Hill while keeping Jaylen Waddle as their top receiving option. However, the Dolphins would need Worthy to fall to them at No. 21 in the draft for this scenario to be possible.
