Mihoyo’s Zenless Zone Zero has announced a surprise release date of July 4th for PlayStation 5, PC, Android, and iOS. The announcement came during Summer Game Fest 2022, where the upcoming action RPG was showcased. Zenless Zone Zero is the latest game from the studio behind Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail, and like its predecessors, it is a stylish free-to-play RPG designed with mobile in mind. The game takes place in New Eridu, the last remaining city following a series of supernatural disasters. Players will assume the role of a Proxy, guiding a team of characters known as Ethereals through dangerous zones.
The game has been in closed beta testing for some time, but with the release date approaching, the beta has come to an end. The game will feature crossplay and cross-progression across all platforms at launch, allowing players to seamlessly switch between devices without losing their progress. One notable aspect of Zenless Zone Zero is its simultaneous launch across mobile and console/PC platforms. Previous Mihoyo games have typically launched on mobile before being ported to consoles, but Zenless Zone Zero will be available on all platforms from day one.
For PC players, it’s worth noting that Zenless Zone Zero will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store and will not be available on Steam. Pre-registration is now available on the Epic Games Store, iOS App Store, Google Play, and PlayStation Store. Players who pre-register will receive several in-game bonuses at launch, including Corin, one of the game’s playable agents, as well as Master Tapes, Dennies, and Boopons, which are in-game currencies.
Zenless Zone Zero launches for free on July 4th for PS5, PC, iOS, and Android. With its exciting post-apocalyptic sci-fi setting, stylish visuals, and cross-platform support, Zenless Zone Zero is shaping up to be another promising RPG from Mihoyo.
