Mike Flanagan’s upcoming science fiction drama ‘The Life of Chuck’ has completed post-production, with the filmmaker sharing the news in a recent social media post. David Dastmalchian, who stars in the film, has given an enthusiastic early reaction to the project, praising its heartfelt and beautifully rendered qualities in an interview with Collider.
Based on Stephen King’s novella of the same name, ‘The Life of Chuck’ follows Charles ‘Chuck’ Krantz (Tom Hiddleston) as he journeys back in time to witness his life play out in reverse after his untimely passing from a brain tumor at the age of 39. The film’s star-studded cast includes Loki’s Tom Hiddleston, Chiwitel Ejifor, Mia Sara, Q’orianka Kilcher, Harvey Guillén, and Mark Hamill, among others.
Dastmalchian’s effusive praise for ‘The Life of Chuck’ highlights its emotional depth and strong performances. He particularly commends Matthew Lillard’s performance, describing it as heartbreaking. He also applauds the versatility of Sassaman, who has transitioned effortlessly between independent films and big-budget studio productions, calling her one of the best actors in Hollywood right now.
Flanagan has a history of adapting King’s works for the big screen, having previously directed ‘Doctor Sleep,’ a sequel to ‘The Shining.’ The release date for ‘The Life of Chuck’ has yet to be announced, but it is sure to be highly anticipated by fans of Flanagan’s work and King’s writing.
