Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher, beloved stars from the original ‘That ’70s Show’, have decided to step away from its sequel series, ‘That ’90s Show’, for the upcoming second season. The couple, who played the iconic characters Jackie Burkhart and Michael Kelso, respectively, have expressed their contentment with the conclusion of their involvement in the reboot.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Kunis politely declined the possibility of her and Kutcher’s return to the show, stating, ‘No,’ when asked if fans could anticipate their presence. She elaborated, ‘We did our part, and I think it was good how they introduced the son, like it was our son in the show, and that felt complete.’
Kunis and Kutcher’s initial encounter occurred on the set of the original ‘That ’70s Show’, which aired from 1998 to 2006 for eight seasons. The show featured a talented cast that included Topher Grace, Laura Prepon, and Wilmer Valderrama, among others. The Netflix sequel focuses on Leia Forman, the daughter of Eric and Donna, as she spends her summer with her grandparents in Wisconsin.
In a previous interview in September 2022, Kunis expressed her apprehensions about filming the sequel with Kutcher, particularly due to the emotional resonance of returning to the same set where they initially met. The decision not to return for the second season signals a graceful exit for the couple, allowing them to preserve the legacy of their characters while making way for a new generation of actors to carry the torch.
