Military Horses Loose in London After Routine Exercise
The United Kingdom’s army has announced that it has recaptured a group of military working horses after they broke free during a regular exercise and galloped riderless through the heart of London.
A statement released by an army spokesperson reads, ‘A number of military working horses became loose during a routine exercise this morning. All of the horses have now been recovered and returned to camp. A number of personnel and horses have been injured and are receiving appropriate medical attention.’
The animals, identified by their saddles and bridles, are reported to have escaped near Buckingham Palace. One white horse, captured in images running through central London, appeared to have blood on its body.
Earlier, the City of London Police stated that two horses had been contained in Limehouse, east London. The London Ambulance Service reported receiving a call at 8:25 a.m. regarding an individual being thrown from a horse on Buckingham Palace Road.
‘We dispatched emergency resources, including ambulance crews, a fast-response paramedic, and an incident response officer,’ the service stated. ‘Our first paramedic reached the incident location within five minutes. The situation is still developing, and we continue to collaborate with our emergency service partners.’
The incident has not been fully resolved. Authorities are working together to maintain safety.
