Millennial Worker Exposes ‘Incompetent Boomer’ Coworkers on TikTok
In a series of viral TikTok videos, Alec Pritchard (@Alec Pritchard) has been sharing examples of what he calls “extreme laziness or stupidity” among workers over 50 at his job. He accuses the “boomer” sales representatives he works with of being unprepared, unprofessional, and making promises to customers that the company does not have the capacity to honor.
Pritchard’s videos have struck a chord with many TikTok users, and he has quickly gained a following of people who share his frustrations with older coworkers. However, his callouts have also had serious consequences for him. He was recently fired for “harassment,” although he says he was using his own private social media on his own private time.
Pritchard is surprised and disappointed by his firing, and he accuses the company of stalking him in order to investigate how he used his platform. He also points out that boomers are often allowed to get away with behavior that would be considered harassment if it were done by a younger worker.
Despite the consequences, Pritchard vows to continue creating the viral content. He says he wants to use his platform to give voice to other millennials who have complaints about boomers. He also hopes to raise awareness of the issue of ageism in the workplace.
