Miramichi Man Charged with Second-Degree Murder in Missing Woman’s Death

A 42-year-old man from Miramichi, New Brunswick, has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of Natalie Leblanc, a 43-year-old woman who was reported missing on May 22nd. Leblanc’s body was discovered on Thursday, and her death is now being treated as a homicide.

The accused, Billy Joe Stewart, appeared in court the same afternoon and has been remanded into custody. A police investigation is ongoing, and no further details have been released at this time.

Leblanc’s disappearance had prompted a missing persons alert from the Miramichi Police Force. With the assistance of the Blackville RCMP, Northeast RCMP K9 services, and the Miramichi Integrated Enforcement Unit (IEU), Stewart was taken into custody.

This is a developing story, and more information will be provided as it becomes available.
