MISTER IT. Unveils a Personalized Spring/Summer 2025 Collection at Tokyo Fashion Week

Just a week after the conclusion of Rakuten Fashion Week Tokyo, and amidst the buzz of London Fashion Week, Tokyo-based fashion brand MISTER IT. unveiled their Spring/Summer 2025 collection on September 14th. The presentation took place at TEN10 STUDIO in Tokyo’s Yoyogi district, inviting guests to a space that exuded a sense of intimacy. As guests descended the stairs to the basement level, a wool-covered bicycle – a striking element from the brand’s first show – greeted them. The presentation space itself, located beyond the hallway, was meticulously designed, with seating and standing areas on either side and a central runway-like space for the models to walk.

The collection, titled “Couture Rhythm,” highlighted the brand’s mastery of couture techniques, showcasing their world through a unique lens. Designer Takuya Sunagawa addressed the seated guests, emphasizing his desire to convey the brand’s aspirations and the creative philosophy behind their clothing. The presentation, titled “Open Fitting,” involved a concept of bringing close friends and collaborators together the day before the show to check the final fittings. This process saw Sunagawa meticulously adjust each look before the models graced the space, allowing guests to witness the final touches.

The first look, a white shirt dress, was explained in a 45-page book (accompanied by audio descriptions of each look) given to each guest. The book revealed that this specific dress, featuring a spacious pocket designed to hold countless PR tickets, was dedicated to Nadine, someone who embodies the brand’s growth. The fifth look, a checked shirt incorporating embroidery inspired by Indian tablecloths, was a tribute to Amnaye, the husband of Sylvia, who hails from India. MISTER IT. exemplifies a profound connection to its loved ones, finding inspiration within these close relationships.

As Sunagawa explained, “Even as the brand grows, we will never change our way of creation. We want to continue making clothes with the utmost consideration for people.” This philosophy was evident throughout the collection, with an emphasis on meticulous craftsmanship and individual stories. The collection showcased the brand’s signature heart motif, alongside the intricate scarf dress, an ode to Sunagawa’s lineage, and a collection of mud-dye items created by artisans from his ancestral home of Amami Oshima. The collection also showcased an array of dresses that seamlessly blended couture silhouettes with everyday wear, creating a harmonious balance between the exquisite and the practical. The presentation, featuring a total of 21 looks, concluded with Sunagawa’s heartfelt address, leaving the audience with a feeling of warmth and appreciation. The personalized presentation and the brand’s dedication to craftsmanship and personal stories were deeply felt by everyone in attendance, leaving a lasting impression on the guests.
