Mitchell Marsh Set to Miss Rest of IPL But Remains on Track for T20 World Cup

Marsh, who is expected to captain Australia in T20’s showpiece event in the West Indies and the United States starting on June 1, is recovering from a partial tear in his right hamstring. The injury has kept him out of action since April 3, and he has only scored 61 runs and claimed one wicket in four matches this season.

Ponting said that Cricket Australia was keen to have Marsh home to start his recovery process and that he has been managing his rehab over the last couple of weeks. Marsh has spoken to Ponting and said that his recovery is taking a little bit longer than he first thought.

Ponting does not think the World Cup will be an issue for Marsh, but he does not think he will be able to return to the IPL this season. The IPL ends on May 26 with the final in Chennai.
