The 81st Venice Biennale is known for its glamorous dinners, where securing an invitation requires both unwavering determination and the right connections. One of the most coveted events this year was the intimate gathering hosted by Miuccia Prada at Ca’ Corner della Regina, a celebration of Miu Miu Women’s Tales #28 and the premiere of “El Affaire Miu Miu”. This film, directed by Argentinian filmmaker Laura Citarella, was commissioned by the brand and presented as part of the Giornate degli Autori program alongside last year’s short film, “I Am The Beauty of your Beauty, I am the Fear of your Fear”, directed by Malaysian director Chui Mui Tan.
The El Affaire Miu Miu dinner, held at Fondazione Prada’s Venetian outpost, was a star-studded affair. Guests had the unique opportunity to explore Christoph Büchel’s captivating exhibition, “Monte di Pietà”, a fictional bankruptcy pawn shop meticulously recreated to resemble the original layout of Venice’s historic Monte di Pietà.
Among the attendees were Emma Corrin, Rami Malek, Benedict Cumberbatch, Harris Dickinson, Louis Partridge, and Olivia Rodrigo, all of whom were mesmerized by the immersive installation. Following the exhibition, guests enjoyed a delectable Venetian menu served in the palazzo’s elegant, stuccoed top-floor salons. The breathtaking views overlooking the magical Grand Canal provided a stunning backdrop to the evening’s festivities.
