Moda Operandi, known for its stylish events, threw a chic cocktail party at Casa Cipriani during New York Fashion Week. The event, a celebration of the fashion world’s biggest week, brought together a stylish crowd of industry insiders and celebrities.
“When I was younger, I wanted to work in fashion for all the parties. It’s important to have goals in life,” joked Lauren Santo Domingo, co-founder and chief brand officer of Moda Operandi, highlighting the alluring nature of the fashion industry.
Stepping into the Jazz Cafe at Casa Cipriani, guests were greeted by stunning floor-to-ceiling window views of the East River, aptly dubbed the “Diamond Reef” by fashion circles. The venue itself exuded vintage glamour, with porthole windows, gold leaf ceilings, and plush velvet benches, transporting guests to a bygone era reminiscent of a 1930s supper club, perhaps even a stylish version of the Titanic, where the passengers were spared the tragedy.
Highboy tables overflowed with delectable treats, including tiny silver cups of Castelvetrano olives, cubed parmesan, and an impressive display of luxurious handbags and pocketbooks, setting the tone for an evening steeped in opulence. Guests mingled and sipped on Social Bird’s 2022 Côtes de Provence Rosé, flowing freely throughout the evening, while enjoying arancini trays passed around the room.
Casa Cipriani’s resident jazz band set the perfect mood, adding a layer of sophistication to the atmosphere. Guests dressed to impress, showcasing their personal style with beaded vintage head caps, swanky feathered pants, and lacy rosette two-piece sets, perfectly complementing the vintage glamour of the venue.
Among the stylish attendees, select guests adorned themselves with stunning crystals looped on velvet pendants, courtesy of Brazilian jeweler Sauer, adding a touch of sparkle to the already glittering event. Santo Domingo presided over the gathering alongside CEO Jim Gold and chief merchant April Hennig, while a constellation of designers graced the event, including Joseph Altuzarra, Trish Westcoat Pound of TWP, Aisling Camps, The Frankie Shops’ Gaëlle Drevet, and Kingsley Gbadegesin.
To round out the night, singer and actress Charlotte Lawrence took the stage, captivating the audience in 8-inch Alaïa wedges. She serenaded the crowd with her original music, interspersed with familiar favorites like “Dreams” and “Somewhere Only We Know,” encouraging the guests to sing along and showcase their own vocal prowess. “Whoever’s singing the loudest is the coolest in the room,” she declared, prompting the attendees to belt out their favorite tunes, careful not to spill their martinis in the midst of their enthusiastic singing and swaying.
As the evening drew to a close, guests left the party with more than just memories. 111Skin provided luxurious goody bags filled with premium products, ensuring that the attendees’ radiant glow would last throughout the weekend, serving as a lasting reminder of the chic and unforgettable evening they had experienced at Moda Operandi’s New York Fashion Week cocktail hour.
