Modi Releases Rs 20,000 Crore for Farmer Income Support Scheme

Prime Minister Narendra Modi released Rs 20,000 crore as part of an income support scheme for over 9.26 crore farmers at an event in Varanasi. This release marks the 17th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme, a crucial initiative by the Union government aimed at providing financial assistance to farmers.

Farmers can now check their beneficiary status online to see if they are eligible for the latest installment. To do so, they need to visit the official PM-Kisan portal at pmkisan.gov.in. On the portal, they should locate the ‘Farmers Corner’ section and click on the ‘Beneficiary Status’ option. Next, they need to enter their required details, such as their Aadhaar number, bank account number, or mobile number. After clicking on ‘Get Report,’ the system will display the current status of their application and payments. This includes details like the amount credited, installment number, and payment date.

The PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme provides farmers with up to Rs 6,000 per year in three installments of Rs 2,000 each. This financial support is intended to serve as a minimum income support for farmers, helping them navigate the challenges of agriculture and ensure their financial stability.
