Launching a scathing attack on the Congress during a campaign rally in the Nandurbar Lok Sabha constituency, Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused the party of conspiring to erase Hindu faith from India. Modi labeled the Congress as ‘anti-Hindu’ and dismissed the opposition party’s allegations that the BJP would alter the Constitution and abolish reservation as mere fabrications.
Modi further asserted that the Congress was attempting to divide India along religious lines and sought to snatch away reservation benefits from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes to appease the Muslim community. However, he emphasized that these rights would be safeguarded under his watch.
The Prime Minister alleged that the Congress had also opposed the appointment of Droupadi Murmu as President due to her Adivasi heritage and claimed that the party had neglected the welfare of Adivasi communities.
Modi highlighted the BJP’s efforts to uplift the Adivasi population, such as providing homes, electricity, and water in Nandurbar. He also pledged to alleviate challenges faced by the Adivasi community and expressed his commitment to ensuring a better life for them.
In response to Modi’s claims, the Congress questioned the delay in conducting the census and accused the Modi government of suppressing crucial socio-economic data. The party demanded the release of caste data and called for a comprehensive census to gather accurate information about the population, particularly marginalized communities.
