Monsoon Tracker: No Relief from Heat in Delhi, Heavy Rains Expected in South India

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted partly cloudy skies with thunderstorms and light rain for Delhi, accompanied by gusty winds of 25-35 kmph. However, no monsoon is expected in the near future, and a yellow alert for heatwave has been issued for Sunday, June 2. Meanwhile, the Southwest Monsoon has advanced in Karnataka, bringing cloudy skies with spells of rain and thundershowers to Bengaluru. Similar weather conditions are expected over the next two days, with partly cloudy skies and scattered rain predicted from June 5 to June 7. IMD has forecasted heavy rainfall over Karnataka on June 2 and 3. In Mumbai, the weather is expected to remain partly cloudy until June 5, with a wet spell expected on June 6 and thunderstorms thereafter. Chennai is set for heavy rains over the next few days, with thunderstorms and gusty winds expected until June 8. The city registered a temperature of 33.52 °C today, with 57% relative humidity. The Met Department has predicted heavy showers for Tamil Nadu on June 2 and June 5. The IMD has issued a yellow alert for Chennai due to week-long showers. Southwest monsoon is set to bring light to moderate rainfall in West Bengal until June 8, accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds. IMD has predicted isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall over West Bengal in the next five days.
