Montenegro’s Minister of Ecology, Sustainable Development, and Development of the North, Damjan Ćulafić, has stressed the critical importance of preserving the country’s marine environment, declaring it not just an ecological imperative but a profound moral obligation. During a recent visit to the Portonovo marina and the Lazure hotel and marina, Minister Ćulafić and his colleagues assessed the state of nature conservation and environmental protection in these key locations for nautical tourism.
The minister highlighted the significance of maintaining high environmental standards, especially in areas like ports and marinas that, while vital to the tourism industry, also pose a heightened risk to the environment. He stressed the importance of establishing and strictly enforcing environmental regulations within these vulnerable areas, emphasizing that the use of advanced materials and technologies can lead to more efficient models of environmental protection.
