St. Joseph-by-the-Sea’s Boys’ Volleyball team fought back from a slow start to emerge victorious against Christ the King, securing a 3-2 match win. Despite losing the first set 25-19, the Vikings rallied to claim the second set 25-23. Although they stumbled in the third set, falling 25-20, they regained their momentum in the fourth set, winning 25-16. The fifth and final set proved to be a nail-biter, but the Vikings once again demonstrated their resilience, rallying to secure a 15-13 triumph and clinch the match. Middle blocker Peter Roussis played a crucial role in the team’s victory, delivering a series of five consecutive service points in the final moments to seal the deal. Team captain Luca Stefanelli showcased his all-around abilities, contributing 17 digs, one ace, and seven kills. Setter and fellow captain Paul Testaverde orchestrated the team’s offense with 26 assists and nine kills. Christian Mlynarski added to the Vikings’ offensive power with eight kills and five blocks, while outside hitter Matthew Ega made significant contributions with nine digs and 14 kills. Libero Connor Galanaugh provided a strong defensive presence, accumulating a total of 21 digs throughout the match.
