The Motorola Razr 2024 is officially out, offering two new folding phones to rival the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6. The lineup features two models: the standard Motorola Razr 2024 and the premium Motorola Razr Plus 2024, each boasting distinct specifications and design elements. One key question for potential buyers is whether both phones include wireless charging, a popular feature in modern smartphones.
The good news is that both the Razr 2024 and the Razr Plus 2024 offer wireless charging. The standard Razr 2024, equipped with a 4,200mAh battery, supports 15W wireless charging and 30W wired charging. However, it lacks reverse wireless charging, a feature reserved for the higher-end Razr Plus 2024. The Razr 2024 boasts a 3.6-inch pOLED cover screen with a 90Hz refresh rate and 1,700 nits of peak brightness. Its main screen is a 6.9-inch 1080p pOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and 3,000 nits of peak brightness. Powering the device is a MediaTek Dimensity 7300x processor paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. On the camera front, it features a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 13MP ultrawide lens, and a 32MP selfie camera. The Razr 2024 runs Android 14 and is priced at approximately $700.
Moving on to the Razr Plus 2024, it also features wireless charging. Despite having a smaller 4,000mAh battery compared to the standard model, it offers the same 15W wireless charging speed and faster 45W wired charging. The distinguishing feature of the Razr Plus 2024 is its inclusion of 5W reverse wireless charging, allowing it to act as a wireless charging pad for devices like earbuds, smartwatches, and other low-power gadgets. While theoretically capable of charging other phones, the 5W speed is relatively slow, making it more practical to use a wired charger or a faster wireless charger for those purposes. Interestingly, the Razr Plus 2024, despite its smaller battery, boasts a larger and more demanding 4-inch pOLED cover screen with a 165Hz refresh rate and 2,400 nits of peak brightness, along with a matching 165Hz refresh rate 6.9-inch 1080p pOLED main screen with 3,000 nits of peak brightness. It is powered by a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor, coupled with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The camera system comprises a 50MP main camera, a 50MP telephoto lens, and a 32MP selfie camera. It runs Android 14 out of the box and has a price tag of around $1,000.
