MSI is gearing up to unveil its latest lineup of Z890 motherboards at Gamescom 2024, kicking off with a sneak peek at the Z890 MAG Tomahawk. This new fleet of motherboards is specifically designed to accommodate Intel’s upcoming Core Ultra 200 series processors, dubbed “Arrow Lake.”
The Z890 motherboards are built around the new LGA 1851 socket, signifying a shift in Intel’s processor architecture. MSI has already provided glimpses of two upcoming models, the Z890 MAG PRO and Z890 MPG EDGE, at Computex 2024 earlier this year.
The upcoming Z890 MAG Tomahawk is positioned as a mid-range offering within MSI’s Z890 motherboard lineup. More details on this new motherboard are anticipated to be revealed next week at Gamescom.
While MSI is readying its new motherboards, we’re still awaiting Intel to announce a concrete release date for the Core Ultra 200 series “Arrow Lake-S” desktop processors. However, Intel has scheduled an event for September 3rd to showcase its Core Ultra 200V series “Lunar Lake” processors, designed for mobile devices. We can expect the Core Ultra 200 series “Arrow Lake” processors to make their debut sometime in Q4 2024, coinciding with MSI’s new Z890 motherboard launch.
