In addition to the increased train frequencies, MTR has introduced a new weekday-only light rail route, Route 720, designed to cater to morning commuters. This route departs at 7:46 am and is targeted towards students, residents, and workers traveling between Tuen Mun and Tin Shui Wai.

Route 720 starts from Siu Hong and traverses key stops including Lam Tei, Nai Wai, Chung Uk Tsuen, Hung Shui Kiu, Hang Mei Tsuen, Tin Yiu, Locwood, Tin Shui, and Chestwood, concluding at the Tin Wing stop. It operates exclusively on weekdays, offering a tailored service to meet the specific needs of morning commuters.
