Mumbai Heatwave: City to Witness Soaring Temperatures, Relief Forecast Soon

Mumbai is currently in the midst of a heatwave, with scorching temperatures expected to continue for the next few days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a special temperature bulletin, observing a maximum temperature of 38.1 degrees Celsius in Suburban Mumbai. The heatwave-like conditions are likely to continue for a few days, with clear skies and hot, humid conditions prevailing throughout the city. IMD has predicted a gradual rise in temperature by 1-2 degrees Celsius in the next two days, followed by a reduction thereafter. For the North Konkan region, which includes Mumbai and Thane, hot and humid conditions are very likely to prevail throughout the day on Tuesday.

Mumbai recently recorded the second hottest day in April, with temperatures soaring to 39.1 degrees Celsius. This was the second-highest April temperature in the last decade. The city also experienced its hottest day in over a decade earlier this month, with temperatures touching a record-high level of 40 degrees Celsius. Not only in Mumbai, but temperatures also reached record-high levels in Thane as well on Monday.

However, there is some relief on the horizon for residents, as IMD forecasts a decrease in temperatures starting from Tuesday. The IMD Santacruz weather station recorded a maximum temperature of 39.1 degrees Celsius in the city.
